How to Treat Acne?

Acne is one of the most common problems in teenagers and a significant number of adults. Due to the pollution and other things, it has aggravated.

The condition involves the buildup of sebum in the pores of the skin. Sebum is an oily substance made by the sebaceous glands under the skin.

When this becomes trapped, it can form pimples on the surface of the skin. These are small, red, pus-filled spots or zits. Breakouts range from mild and occasional to severe and ongoing.

The main reason for the acne is the quality of life. A person with acne can experience anxiety, embarrassment, and loss of confidence

The immediate treatment can help you to recover well from the acne problem otherwise it can make acne worsen.

What makes pimples worse?

It is the unknown fact that what the things are which makes acne more worse, but hormonal activity appears to play a role by causing an increase in sebum production.

Pimples are very common during the puberty and adolescence, and women often find they break out just before menstruation.

Other facts which affect acne is anxiety, stress, lifestyle issues, hot humid climate and increased level of sweating.

Your food habits also play a pivotal role in acne development.

Home management

There are many things, which we can follow at home to prevent acne.

Avoid touching the face

Avoid touching your face, because your hands carry lot of germs, which can make your acne worse, make sure you wash your hand before touching your face.

Shaving

People who shave should use safety razors with a sharp blade or an electric shaver.

Before shaving, soften the skin by having a warm shower or washing with warm, soapy water.

Keep your hands and nails as clean as you can by washing them regularly with soap. Keep your nails short.

Do not pop pimples

This is the worst things people do with the pimples, they pop-up, which causes inflammation and can increase the swelling and redness. A popping pimple also increases the risk of scarring.

Urgent removal

Seek specialist treatment if removal of a pimple is urgent.

Loose clothing

If the acne is on the back and should or another body part, cover by clothing. Always try to wear loose clothing.

Makeup

Primarily suggestion is wear less makeup and removes all makeup before going to sleep and to choose the right types.

Washing your face

Wash your face twice a day with the gentle face wash, make sure your face wash does not causes the dehydration. Use the moisturizer cream after the face wash.

Face-washing tips include:

  • using a mild soap and lukewarm water
  • wash gently and do not scrub the skin
  • gently apply an OTC lotion containing benzoyl peroxide with the fingertips

Sun exposure

Use of tanning beds or overexposure to sunlight may result in the production of more sebum, as well as increasing the risk of skin cancer.

Some medications for acne may also make the skin more prone to sunburn, so caution is advised.

Many treatments are available in the market to treat acne; you can choose them wisely and if your acne is worsening, take the expert consultation immediately.
